Smallbatch Wins Four 2026 PETS+ Retailer’s Choice Awards

In this article
Some recognition means more than others. This year, Smallbatch was named a winner in four categories of the 2026 PETS+ Retailer’s Choice Awards, and every vote came from independent pet retailers.
These are the people who stand on the sales floor every day, answer questions about ingredients, and hear from pet parents about what is working in the bowl. To be chosen by them, in four categories at once, is the kind of recognition we care about most.
What Are the PETS+ Retailer’s Choice Awards?
The PETS+ Retailer’s Choice Awards are run by PETS+, a trade magazine for independent pet retailers. 2026 is the first year of the program. Products compete across more than 30 categories, and winners are chosen by independent retailers rather than an editorial panel.
That matters to us. Smallbatch has been sold through independent pet stores since the beginning, and today you can find us in more than 3,000 of them nationwide.
Our Four Winning Categories
Dog & Cat Complete and Balanced Frozen Food: Frozen Raw Dog Food

Our frozen raw patties and sliders for dogs are complete and balanced, made with 78–88% humanely raised meat, organ, and bone (depending on the recipe) and certified organic produce. Every recipe is single-protein, which makes rotation and sensitivity management simpler. Frozen raw is available exclusively at independent pet stores.
Dog & Cat Complete and Balanced Shelf-Stable Food: Freeze-Dried Sliders for Dogs

Our freeze-dried raw sliders bring the same recipes to a shelf-stable format. They can be served as a complete meal after rehydrating, or crumbled over the bowl as a topper. They are a favorite for travel, busy weeks, and pet parents who are new to raw.
Dog & Cat Toppers and Broths: SuperBoosters Freeze-Dried Bites

SuperBoosters are freeze-dried bites made with 95% meat, organ, and bone plus functional whole food ingredients and probiotics. They are made to top any meal for dogs and cats.
Dog Treats: Single-Ingredient Freeze-Dried Heart Treats

Our freeze-dried heart treats are made with one ingredient and nothing else. They include the chicken hearts that recently arrived in a bulk bag of up to 200 treats.
Thank You, Retailers
For 21 years, independent retailers have believed in what we make and shared it with their customers, bowl after bowl. These awards belong to them as much as to us.
Nothing about how we work changes. We still choose every ingredient ourselves, craft every recipe in small batches on the West Coast, and stay small so we can keep our standards where they belong.
